What we do on a roof.

Metro East roofs take straight-line wind off the prairie in spring and hail most summers. Everything below is built for that: ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment, six nails a shingle, ridge vent on every replacement.

Ask about your roof
  • Roof replacementTear-off to the deck, ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment, then architectural shingles from the major brands in the color you pick. Most ranches and two-stories in Highland and Troy close up in one day.
  • Roof repairLifted shingles after a spring wind, a cracked pipe boot, flashing that let go at the chimney. Fixed the same week we see it, with the patch matched to the roof.
  • Storm damage inspectionAfter hail or wind, with your permission, Christian walks the roof, photographs every slope and explains what he found. Anything open to the weather gets a tarp first and the repair in writing.
  • Commercial and flat roofsTPO and modified bitumen on shops, small warehouses and the flat sections of split-levels.
  • SidingVinyl and fiber cement, with the house wrap and flashing done right behind it. One wall matched after a storm, or the whole house.
  • Gutters and downspouts5-inch and 6-inch seamless aluminum, hung the day the roof is finished.
  • WindowsReplacement windows set in existing openings, flashed and foamed, trimmed inside and out.

Christian started Ascend Restoration in Highland after four years on other people's crews.

He tore off and laid shingles across Madison and St. Clair counties before he put his own name on a truck. He knows the 1970s ranches in Troy and Glen Carbon, the brick two-stories around Edwardsville, and the long low shops along Route 143, because he has been on those roofs.

Residential and commercial, repairs and full replacements. We do not sell a roof when a repair will hold, and the estimate is itemized so you can compare it to anyone else's line by line.

I ask one thing: let me walk the roof before I price it. I promise one thing: the paper and the phone say the same number.

Two counties, one truck leaving Highland at six-thirty.

Highland sits on the I-70 side of Madison County, so Troy, Glen Carbon, Edwardsville and Collinsville are usually a next-day look. Down I-64 to Belleville, O'Fallon and Shiloh, give us two or three days. Greenville, Breese and the rest of the Metro East by arrangement.

Questions people ask us.

Do you need to get on my roof to give me a price?
Only with your permission. Christian asks before he sets the ladder, takes photos of every slope, and shows them to you before he leaves. If you would rather he stayed on the ground, he can measure from the ground and the photos, and the estimate will say so.
How fast is the written estimate?
The same week as the roof walk, by email, itemized line by line. If you need it sooner for a closing, say so on the call and it moves up.
What happens after a storm?
Call us. If water is coming in, the crew comes out the same day or the next morning to tarp the open spots. Christian photographs the roof, explains what he found, and writes up the repair. Nothing goes in the estimate that is not in a photo you have seen.
Why the ice and water shield in the valleys?
Metro East storms push rain sideways and the valleys carry the most water on the roof. Code asks for the membrane at the eaves. We run it the full length of every valley and around every penetration, because that is where roofs leak first.
What does the licence line on this page mean?
Illinois requires anyone roofing for pay to hold a state roofing contractor licence, and the licence name and number must appear on advertising. Ascend Restoration's number goes here before this page goes live, and anyone can check it on the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation licence lookup.
